From my Window

Observing, through the chocolaty stains,
As the lizards scatter, incognito
My eyes are caught by the tiny droplets of rain
That slide down the pane of my foggy window
As my eyes move ahead, onto the streets,
I find numerous paupers tired, thirsty and beat.
I see cows and dogs amidst heaps of trash,
And two-wheelers racing around, extremely rash.
And as my eyes move waywardly, onto the dusty main road,
I perceive venders and their carts; numerous goods being sold.
I spot countless markets filled with tons of people,
And heavy industries whose intentions seem to be evil.
But now not even a single soul is to be found,
One can only feel sheer silence, all around
Where, at once, there used to be a thousand,
From my window, the world now seems to be poisoned.
