Oh Mighty Ocean!

Oh, Mighty Ocean, so powerful and blue,
Tell me who it is, that dares to infest you.
That man shall be dealt with, punished and sued.
For trying to make me bid thou adieu.
To track that sinner, I head off to the dock.
What I witness there, does bring me great shock.
Because polluting the ocean is not just one man’s deed,
For what I see next, makes my heart bleed.
Floating on the water, I see plastic bags galore,
Numerous in the water, many on the shore.
Simultaneously I hear the ship’s galactic roar,
As it spills liters of oil, destroying coral and more.
And as I walk back home, my heart and brain numb,
I hear this voice in my head telling me not to stay mum.
For so long has this occurred without any jolt,
It shall be me, who will bring this to a halt.
At school, I can talk and give sermons and speeches,
And tell people we should protect our super elegant beaches
And tell them to start small, using just jute and cotton,
So, the destruction bars will get heavily shortened.
I shall encourage them to give up plastic, ‘Go Green!’
And stop being, to the marine life, so extravagantly mean.
And make our oceans spick and span and clean,
Thus, keeping our beaches, shiny and pristine.
Because only if I change, will you and you
For I shall motivate you to do so too,
To make me proud and finally, one day say,
“Look at Mother Ocean so clean and gay”.
To all those people sitting on the couch,
Eating a bag of chips, watching Tv in a slouch.
If Thunberg and Watson do it, with high spirits anew,
Then why not me, he, she, or you?
